V10 power

Hello All!

This is only my second post, so be gentle(just kidding!). I have a question about air intakes. Are they worth it? If, then what brand? AirRaid? K&N? Etc..

Any suggestions ?

I already have a Flowmaster CatBack, and it is lifted 4" with 35" BFG's.
I think the truck is fine the way it is, if I wanted fast, I would have kept my modded '98 GT. My wife, however, would like a little more power (THEY ALWAYS DO!!).

BTW you have a great Forum here!!!

Scott

Hey Scott,

Welcome to FTE! As far as air filters are concerned, it's been a long ongoing debate here for a while. Fredvon has taken the time to research this topic in depth. Here's a link that'll show you some good info:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...ht=air+filters

If you want your truck to have a deeper grunt when you jump on the throttle (my K&N is pretty loud) then by all means go for it, otherwise it's just another fancy toy to add on.

If you do get one, don't expect anymore horsepower or gas mileage out of it. If anything, it'll drop cuz you'll want to hear the motor more often.

I have a k&n along with a cobra throttle body - The two together helped the off idle acceleration.
