This is the data off my plate:
W.B. 129, COLOR J, MOD F250, BODY E81, TRANS G, AXLE 24
MAX GVW 7500, CERT. NET HP 172 RPM 4000, DSO 62
The VIN is F25DK703856
If someone could decode that I would appreciate it. I believe the truck to be mostly original, but it does have a 4:56 gear ratio that I believe is not original. Also it is marked with Custom Cab emblems, but is not 2 tone. It also is sporting Camper Special emblems. Also 172 HP 352 seems rather anemic. I hope to nearly double that with the 390 I've got built!
Thanks!
F25DK703856 F250 (F25) 352 motor (D) built in Kansas (K) June of 65 (703856).
The Color J is Rangoon Red, Trans G is 3 speed Cruisomatic, Axle 24 is 4:10 ratio. The 352 was listed as 208HP gross, but the certified net 172 at 4000 rpm is correct...
Thanks Mike!
Is there anything that would prove one way or another that it is indeed a Custom Cab? The fact that it is all Rangoon Red seems to contradict the CC. It is the original paint.
My '66 Camper Special is a custom cab and is all Wimbledon White and was definitely not repainted as I have it completely apart and would have seen something they missed.
Also, I found the build sheet in the seat springs and the paint code section looks like this:
color code | PAINT |
| B | T |
--------------------
M 4
Well - having trouble making it line up - but the "4" is is under the "T" and the "M" is under "color code" and the "B | T" is under "PAINT"

Your truck is a custom cab version. The Body code tells you this. E81 is body 81B ( custom cab) and the "E" is your interior trim code. It is supposed to be Red crush vinyl and red ladder pattern woven plastic.
Skonnie-Mark- That's the build sheet and what you need to post is what's on the door tag. You need a salesman's datas book to decipher those codes. Just post your info from the serial number plate and we can tell you what's what.
129= wheel base
M=color White (64 and on )
F250= model
E81= Same description as above for Pro Stock's truck
A= trans code, 3 speed standard or 4 speed NP 435. They used the same code for both trannys. Very confusing.
25= axle code. It's a Dana 60 with 4.56 gears.
