I'm replacing my wifes break pads and would like input from you guys on which brand/type pad to go with. Should I only buy Motorcraft pads or would you guys recomend buying a pad with a lifetime replacement warranty.
What is the deal with ceramic pads? One rep told me that you do not have break dust with these pads. Another told me that they would not overheat. Is any of this true and are they worth the extra price.
Where do you guys recomend buying the pads from. Thanks ahead for all of the responses
I replaced the front brakes on our '02 explorer with the original Ford pads. Motorcraft has two grades of pads, the higher grade is the exact replacement for the factory installed pads. After getting 50k miles on the originals I had to use the better Ford pads. The ceramic are good pads, and yes, they do reduce the black brake dust significantly. I have used the raybestos ceramic with good results. I recommend using the best grade of brake pads you can get, They're worth it. Good luck.
