The FF has a more corrosion resistant fuel system, larger fuel injectors so you can run E-85 fuel.
The eighth VIN position is the engine displacement and number of cylinders.
l C — 2.5L, SOHC, four cylinder, gas.
l U — 3.0L, V6, gas.
l V — 3.0L, V6, flex-fuel.
l X — 4.0L, V6, gas.
