85 f150 steering problems
i just spent a few rough hours changing the power steering pump on my 85 f150 cause i thought it was leaking! but after i did it i found out the pump wasnt the problem, it was leaking from the steering box!!!! can anyone tell me if i need a new steering box or is there a seal which can be replaced? all replies will be greatly appreciated!!!!!!thanks

I had the main shaft seal changed on my '81 f1oo without removing the box. I think it was about a 300 -400 dollar(cdn) repair. At the time it was reccommended to change the shaft as it was scored and would take out the new seal in no time.

thanks for the info buck, but as you said it was a costly repair so i put a for sale sign on the old peice junk and i found a great deal on a 95 f-250 that only had 15 k on it! thanks again!!!!
