Need new engine Orange County

I have a 73 highboy and live in Huntington Beach. My 360 is finally on it's last leg and I need something new. I have been looking at Jaspers level II 390. It seems to be built well, but for 3000 dollars - the price seems high. Plus the shipping from the Mid-west and the core return shipping. Does anyone know of a great shop locally that I can get a 390 that is moderately built?

I was also thinking of changing out my NP 435 manual tranny for a c-6. Does anyone have shop for that?

That NP435 is bullit proof. Are you sure you wanna trade it out for a C6. The C6 is also a goon one but man, that 4 speed will take alot of abuse! Personal preference I suppose.
