Engine tick
Hi-
I have an 88 f150 with a 302 that is ticking. It ticks when it is cold and also while accelerating or under load. It has been suggested that the exhaust manifold gasket needs to be replaced. If so, any ideas on the difficulty of replacing these? Are there any gaskets that would be better than the OE style replacements? Thanks.

definately check the timing first.... buuuut
in most cases, it's not the gasket that needs replacing. The manifold actually cracks, and that's what's ticking. Run a search about cracked exhuast manifolds and see if that helps, if not, keep posting.
