We have had our 95 since last summer, and just love it. But as of late it started throwing transmission fluid out, and the indicator light was flashing. We had to fill it afew times to limp it home. So we took it in to have them take a look see. He said it was leaking by the sending unit, so he tightened it, said we may have problems with the sending unit itself. So upon the drive home the indicator light started blinking again, I made it home without problems, and its not leaking. So finally the question....Would it be the sending unit that is bad and tripping the transmission indicator light to go off?? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm getting ready to haul for my daughters 4-H cow and need this very road ready. Thanks bunches ahead of time.....

Have you had the codes read? That would be where I'd start. By indicator light, are you talking about the OD light or some other light.....I own a 2000, so you'll need to educate me on your 95.
Anyway, the circuit works like this: Sensor is checked by the PCM. If sensor indication missing or out of acceptable level......log appropriate error code.....turn on indicator. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the Welcome, I have been reading awhile now. Great site and very informative, especially for new diesel owners like me.
About the truck, I took it in, they removed the aftermarket transmission temp. gauge, but failed to check the codes or reset them! But upon my drive home the transmission indicator light started blinking again, which is located on our shift column, where the overdrive on/off is located. So I took it back. The codes read were P1728 trans slip error, P1783 trans temp code, they cleared the codes. So for acouple days it was fine, and now the indiacator is blinking again!! It is shifting smoothly, but I have not driven any distance with it lately! Any clues out there would help?? I will return to the shop to have the codes read again as there is no charge this next time. Do you think it is unwise of me to drive this at this point?? I have to haul a cow to a 4-H show, and don't want to break down going.....Help
