First off I'd like to thank all the fellows on here for all the info.I check in here every evening and get a lot of great info.I have 94.5 psd that had the bent pushrods earlier this spring.Got that problem fixed but at idle it runs slightly ruff,(like it has a cam).If I run it up to 1000rpm it get worse( truck has quite a noticable shake) and smooths out at 1500.While driving don't notice anything, great milage good power although it seems to be using about a litre for every 1000 miles but that it getting better with miles.I think the cylinder got washed when driven with broken pushrods. The motor was just change when I bought the truck and it has only 40000 mi.I bought it with the broken pushrods so I'm not sure what cause that in the first place.Thought the problem was possibly injectors but ford did a constintisity test and they could not pinpoint anything.Truck does smoke blue ,white while warming up but nothing warm.Any ideas?
Thanks Jake
is it a stick, if so, i will bet $$$ its your Dual Mass Fly Wheel, especially if it is a 94.5 with a stock clutch. you can take the inspection plate off and measure the rotation difference in the 2 halves, if it is great than (i think) 5/8" it needs replaced, carolina clutch is a sponsor of this site, and will sell you a Single Mass FlyWheel for about 1/2 what a stock flywheel and clutch will cost. My truck had the same symptons, and i have seen it on many others.
Thanks,I thought that also but the people at ford thought that it was a miss.I've got a new take out flywheel that was taken out of a truck with almost no miles but I was going to take a look at all the options before I tear it apart. With the clutch depressed and in gear should the shake not go away if it is the clutch?
Thanks Jake

The first thing I had to do with my F350, 5-speed manual. If you do replace the flywheel let me know. I can talk you right through it. I would go ahead and replace the clutch plate while you were there. No point in wasting the time doing it later. That stinkin' dual mass flywheel is around $1000 from a dealer. I got mine at O'Rielly for less than half of that. And... It's freakin' heavy. I did it by my self and trust me. be ready when you pull that last bolt!
As far as dual mass or a single mass, you need to deside what are you going to be doing. I believe the dual mass would be your best bet.
its not the clutch, its the flywheel, it has nothing to do with the clutch at all. Everyone thought mine was a miss to, but i spoke with a few very knowledgable clutch guys and we figgered it out. Change out the clutch, trust me

You are right. It sounds like somethings out of tune inside. But it was my flywheel. the springs and plastic bumpers had worn out.
Now everyone. If you haven't seen one --> yes there are springs and platic in that flywheel!
Your right, flywheel is bolted to crank (Must be getting late) The fellow that got me this flywheel said they got 3 flywheels from ford before they got one that was less than 5\8 rotation. How much movement is there in the aftermarket ones.
Jake
none, the aftermarket dont have movement, if you are going to put a flywheel in the truck, dont put a stock replacement in there, they are poop. Trust me. the spings are in the clutch in the aftermarket ones

I didn't realy pay that much attention to it. I just know it worked.

that is a picture of a stock clutch and flywheel, note no springs in the clutch, like you would see anywhere else. The flywheel is 2 halves, when the springs wear, the 2 halves rotate more than they are supposed to, failure often results in a cracked bellhousing or worse

no springs in the clutch, because they are in the flywheel... fords brilliant idea, and aftermarket SMFW will have springs in the clutch, why i didnt take a picture of my new clutch and flywheel, i dont know
