Real Spec's
Having a heck of a time finding real spec's for my truck. Payload in particular, for a camper later. Checked the spec's page under ARTICLES/INFO, but that does not specify a CC V10 etc. This is why I was looking for a brochure for the 2000 model year. I have google'd etc, but cannot find what I am looking for.
You guys know everything. Thanks in advance.

The only way to find your legal payload is to weigh your truck with you in it and subtract that weight from your GVWR. I guess your truck at say 6800 pounds so 9900 - 6800 = 3100 pounds of legal payload. Now these trucks are capable of hauling a lot more than their legal payload and most pickups on the road with a slide in Camper are overweight. As the world becomes more **** and lawyers are looking for new areas to bilk the system, if you can keep your payload legal it is to your advantage. In the 05
model year Ford raised the GVW of their pickups a lot. The truck in my sig. has an 11200 pound GVW and I weigh just over 11000 pounds when I am all loaded up with my slide in Camper. My 04 F350 with the 9900 GVW was 1000 pounds overweight with this same camper on. Ford can void your warranty if you are overweight and this was a big factor in me dumping my 04 PSD lemon. Also our provincial auto insurance in British Columbia is looking at this issue and claiming your insurance is void if you are overweight and involved in an accident. I hauled campers safely for over 20 years. They were all overweight except for my new unit and it feels good to be able to load the camper with all my supplies and still be legal. You can put on airbags and better shocks but there is no way to change your legal GVW. The Ford F250 SD in some years is the same truck as the F350, except in the eyes of Ford and the Law. Do I think this is fair? No, but is life ever fair? sorry to ramble on but you will get people chiming in that putting bigger springs, shocks , etc, etc, will raise your payload. These things will all improve your truck's handling but trust me, even a team of Philadelphia Lawyers would have a hard time to increase your Legal payload, Wrench.
