anti-theft sys acting up

I have a 98 Nav. w/50k. The other day my horn was chirping a few chirps on and off every few minutes with it parked in the garage. I used the key fob to try and silence the horn to no avail, I then tried to unlock the doors with the fob and after 1 or 2 seconds the door would lock all by itself. I am not sure if it is a problem with the key fob or the anti theft system itself. I checked the battery, have 12 volts static and engine running reads 13.5 volts, so the charging system seems normal. I disconnected/reconnected the battery for a few minutes, and also removed the battery from the key fob. The problem has not came back and was wondering if anyone has ever had a similar fluke experience.

I had a similar experience with my 03 Expedition at 55K miles. It was a very intermitten problem which eventually was happening all the time. The problem was a wiring harness under the dash had worn through and was shorting out. Thankfully I have the extended warranty, the bill would have been around $650 since it shorted out the security system

I have to wait and see if it ever happens again, hope not. I heard something about possible leaking windshields on earlier Expy/Nav. that allowed water to drip on the GEM module not really sure what that does or where its located.
