If you let it heat at 170 or around there for hours (most i've read so 5-8 hours or over night!) then it will let the water settle out. Other wise you need to get it to boiling to boil it out.

If you get a de-watering unit would heating it up to the point to get rid of water be necessary?

170 is fine. I've heard of people only going to 100 for extended periods of time to rid the water.
