Oil burner?
Probably the wrong title, but i just had to put a quart of oil in my truck. It's a 1997 F-150 with the 4.2L and only 65,000 miles. i went to check the oil for the first time in a month and was a quart low it seemed kind of weird for a what I would consider a low mileage vehicle. on top of that the dipstick has a small hunk missing from it? Anyone experienced similar problems? I'm kinda cluless because I've heard no odd noise except what sounded like a lifter clicking and did not see any places oil was leaking out of the engine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My dad's 4.2 is a 00' with 130k on it and we go 5k between oil changes. It doesn't burn or leak a drop. The oil is still gold after 5k.
Don't know much about the 4.2 except that they are a pain to work on. Good motors but shoved in a little engine bay.

yeah I know i've never had any major problems and I change the oil every 5k. This is the first issue i've had with the engine, but if i remember correctly the 97's with the hydro lock issues seemed to only make it 75,000. so i'm just asking to see if anyone had had similar problems.
