460 questions

I am looking at eventually replacing the 351M in my '78 F-250 since I will soon be going with larger tires. I have found a 460 needing a rebuild, I think it is a D1VE? block. Is this correct? If so is this a good engine to pick up? It has a bent pushrod for sure, not sure what else. I can get it real cheap. Opinions please!

The DiVE blocks are fine, the only concern I would have is the heads if it has the D2 (72 passenger car non PI heads) those are not very good as they are open chamber poor flowing heads prone to detonation but if it's later than a 72 would have the D3 heads, and those actually work pretty good. any engine you can get for REAL cheap is a good one IMO. As long as theere isn't anything wrong like a busted crank or cracked block or heads that would be a good starting point.
