04' Expedition NAV System

How can I override the NAV system becoming disabled for plotting new address and destinations while the vehicle is in motion? The system works great while moving under 5 MPH, but after that, I can't search for addresses, destination points, etc. if they aren't already stored in the system. Thanks.

I know this is frustrating not being able to program new destinations while in motion, I cussed mine out several times.

If I'm going on a trip and have several known stops along the way, I'll load all the destinations, then cancel guidence on each one. The destinations will stay under the previous destinations tab. This function is useable while the vehicle is in motion and reduces a lot of stress.

Thanks for the hint, which is something I have done before as well. I really am looking for the sequence/codes that can be entered into the system to override the in motion lockout. I have heard there is a way to do this, but it must be a well guarded secret since I have yet to find anything about disabling the safety component of the NAV system on the Internet or in postings such as this.

try this link. http://www.coastaletech.com/universal_video.htm
General rule of motion lock out is that the signal is comming from the emergency brake.
Could be wrong on this, but worth a check out.
