I am hoping someone can help me out, I really, really need a NOS or mint used driver's side running board, classifieds are not helping much. I am looking to blow this thing apart for body work and paint REAL soon, I need to finish all the metal mods on the boards before that. Thanks, all
Fatfenders56- I don't know anyone with a board for the driver's side. There is a classic car/ trucks junkyard here in CA that has several F100's in their yard. They also have really fair prices. I get a lot of items there. They also do UPS orders etc. Here's their website. www.oldautoparts.com
If they have a running board, I'm not far from the yard and I could stop by there and check it out to see if it's in good shape for ya, Let me know.
Have you tried calling the people that actually make them like Carpenter or there's a guy in the midwest? My experience (not in the case of running boards or these companies particularly) but with sets of items has been that sometimes they may have singles due to shipping/storage damage, defects, returns etc they are looking for a home for, but don't advertise they have them??? Be worth a phone call or two to them and even some of the stocking distributors like Mid Fifty, Bob's etc. Worse they can do is say no...
In a desperate moment I might be inclined to buy a pair and offer up the extra one on ebay.
Bob's F100 Parts in Riverside CA stocks most used original sheet metal for 53-56 F100s. They don't do online ordering you have to call 909-681-1956. They do have a printed catalog. I have an outdated catalog and price sheet that shows running boards for $175 but you need to call to get the actual price.
I just got my new dennis carpenter catalog last week and he's selling a single running board for $250.00 ea. or $400.00 a pair. Expensive but made off original ford dies!
