I have a company here in the area that has this stuff but sells it in different thickness....20", 27" and 40"...Question I have is after I put in the sound deadner, heat shield...how thick would i need this stuff to be for the carpet to lay natural in the cab???? Help me please!!!!!!
If you mean smooth, you'll need some sort of dense 1/4" thick material to fill in the floor ribs with then lay the underlayment/pad over that. How thick the pad needs to be is up to you and the material and density of the pad. Do you want squeezes up between your bare toes bedroom soft then you might want 1/2" soft reconstructed foam, for a flatter hard wearing look and feel then a 1/4 - 3/8" dense pressed felt might be prefered.
I have the sound deadner for those areas and the heat shield goes on top....the question is how thick does the pad suppose to be??? I don't want somebody to be riding on the magic carpet while riding in the truck...
