the engine quit while i was driving my 87 f250 5.8 EFI. I checked the spark and it is OK. it sounds like i'm out of gas but i know there is a least 10 gals in both tanks. i don't hear the tank fuel pumps relay when i turn the ignition switch on. i don't see a fuse for the fuel pumps in the fuse panel under the dash by the steering wheel. both tanks and in-tank fuel pumps were replaced a couple of months ago. any ideas?

Reason: for clarity
I am not being smart about this, but do a search for the fuel pump relay on this forum and you will find all you want to know. I personaly have not read any from it but I have seen post refering to it. I have read that the fuel pump cut off switch is behind the kick plate next to the passengers foot area. I would imagine you pull the panel off and they will be there. There are several post and threads concerning your problem, it must be a Ford thing with these trucks. Also when is the last time you changed your fuel filter? Sorry I could not be more help.
I've checked under the hood, but I didn't recognize the main power box. I did find the fuel pump relay right next to the air filter housing and it looks ok. Could you point me in the right direction to the man power box?
Both pumps were working when they suddenly cut off while on the road. I would very much like to inspect the maxi fuse.
The engine compartment on the whole has been sorely neglected. This is just the beginning. All of the components need to be cleaned, refurbished or replaced.
Thanks for the heads up about searching the forums. I've started reading a couple of posts and found that there is a wealth of information out there. Some of it is pretty technical for me but I always like a good challange.

that is the main power box, replace relay even if it looks good, also one maxi fuse is for the fuel pumps.
