How was it determined that the Hypertech caused this?

What, exactly, do you mean by "went out?"

I cant say that it really did the damage but It just didnt fell right with the trans shift with it in. I had it in with stock tire for a while and it just seemed to shift funny dont know if that was causing it or not the truck has 58k on it now and I put a lift on it so I had the problem before the lift. I have been looking at Superchip & Diablo The tranny stuck in 2nd gear and then stuck in 1st I cant remember the codes it had but the O/D was flashing and I think that is a default for the computer when it does that I dont know if the Tranny was totally fryed but I didnt have alot of time so I just replaced it with a reman. Ford. If I get a new Programmer Im going to beef the tranny with some upgrade to play it safe. Im changing the gears next week from 3:73 to 4:30 thats a start. Right now I just have the Air intake and Propane injection on it and It runs pretty good. So the question is do I need more power with the programmer???? More power is always good but do I need it??

Do you need it? Well, that's up to you. Chips and tuners really aren't designed to increase towing capacity, that's determined by the brakes, frame and suspension. What they do help with is making towing easier and more enjoyable. You'll find that Diablo and Superchips are going to give you more power, and more options. Both firm up the shifts as well.

What do you know about a programmer Qaudzilla. I was in the truck shop and they just started carrying that brand. I just want something to put in with maybe a 65 setting. Something to give alittle power and firm my shift up. Also that will work with my Propane injection that Im running now. I dont tow anything just a pavement runner.

OK Ken I bought a Superchip for my truck. I tried all the programs and the tow perf. one works the best. Question is does it firm the tranny up already with the program. I see that the Diablo has a setting for none, firm, hard so I guess that it will let you pick or is that in the different program settings??? I see that Motorhaven has a sale going on now. I would like to firm the shift up. Any comment of you great knowledge would be great

I've never run their programmer (yet). I recommend custom tuning if you're going to run a performance tune with propane.

Yes, Superchips firms it up, but you can't pick the firmness.
