ABS Light
I am new to this forum and I am hoping to get some info on my 2000 F-150 4X4. Not sure if a thread already exists!!! The ABS light stays on after startup. It has been like this for some time. I recently replaced the rear speed sensor since this seems to be what everyone says to do and it is only $ 22, cheaper than a $ 70 diagnosis!!! I checked as many connections as possible, master cylinder, front and rear speed sensors, control module, etc. All seems to be in tack. The cruise control is disconnected from the master cylinder as part of the service recall. Fluid level is fine. I would like to solve the problem prior to paying for the daignostics. I just replaced front rotors and pads while examining the front speed sensors. I compressed the caliper pistons by opening the bleeder valve. I then checked and bled the system for air. Finally, the light will stay off if I hold my foot on the brake during startup, but once I release the brake pedal the light comes on. Is it possible that air in the line will cause this problem? The brakes feel fine. Any help or direction will be greatly appreciated!
