i would like to know how hard it would be to swap the stock front axel (the IFS system) for a 94 ranger to swap in a solid axel......wat kind of axel would fit to keep the same width??? i would like to know because i might need a new front axel thanks
here's an sas topic we haven't covered in a while .
The best source for axles of the right width other than that from a pre 80's 1/2 ton would be a set of axles from the small bronco's, and the asiest way to swap them in would be to pul the complete axle setup up from the bronco and place under your ranger (with the suspension removed)the set you truck at the ride height you want it (with tires on the axles) using jack stands and whatnot, then once the height is acheived fab up all the necessary bracketry to adapt the bko hardware to your ranger.
i agree... actually before 78. 78 was the first year of the fullsize bronco. just be careful and not get the dana 30. they are pretty weak. the narrow D44 is the best way to go. that or a hi-9 simply due to the aftermarket but that really pricey! and then for the rear get ya a 9" from that year and beef it out! unless its a PP/DD
