I have a '92 AWD 4.0 Eddie Bauer EXT with Digital Dash, and out of no where the airbag light has just started flashing. I also noticed that when I turn off the ignition, I hear an audible tone coming from the dash that I have never heard before. I am thinking that the two are related.
Has anyone every had this happen, and if so, how did you fix it.
your help is appreciated.
Thanks - Tony
The flashing of the airbag light is telling you that there is an issue and giving you a code. It is like morse code, it will flash a certain number of times for the first number, stop, and do it again for the second number. That will help us narrow it down. I think that beep is related telling you that the air bag is not active.
Yes, count the number of flashes to determine the code number. There is a longer interval between the repeated code number. i.e. 3 flashes, short pause, 4 flashes, long pause, 3 flashes, short pause, 4 flashes, long pause (and continues)= code 34.
