Hate slamming!
Does anyone know why I would have to slam the driver's door in order to shut it all the way? I think that I need to replace the Striker bolt. The rubber around the door is fine. The other door shuts correctly. Any ideas?

Are your door hinges wore out ,they could be letting your door drop down a little when you open it , then you have to slam it to get it ride back up over the striker bolt, to check them open the door a little bit , half way or less , or you may have to open it all the way up, some doors respond differently, grab ahold of the bottom of the door and lift up on the door, kinda rock it up and down this should show you slop in the hinges if you have any, you will feel it clunk . or have a helper watch them for play while your doing this.

Just a tad. I lifted from the bottom and kinda played with it awile and it appears to be slightly worn. what do you think?

Sounds like your door hinges are worn, it dosen't take much slop in your hinges to make the door not shut right. You can get down on the level of the door latch & striker bolt with a light and push the door up to the striker bolt slowly and look in there with your light and see where the latch is in relation to the striker bolt, then push the door on closed and feel if the door raises up to meet the striker, you may need to do this a few times to get the feel of things. A body shop can fix your hinges, or you can buy new ones (ouch) or you might find some good ones at a wrecking yard, but be sure to check them the same way. dont buy them if they are not still on the truck where you check them. good luck
