i have an 89 ford pickup with a 300 6 and the transmision was changed from a manual 5 to a c6 and the spedometer shows 8 miles an hour off so if the spedo sez i am goin 60 i am realy goin 52 miles per hour how can i adjust my spedometer

You need to change the speedo gear located on the speedo cable at the rear of the trans. You need a speedo gear with more teeth. Pull the cable out and count the number of teeth on the gear. Go to Ford and get one with about two more teeth. You can tell your dealer what you have, trans, rear end gear ratio, and tire size and they should be able to suggest a gear number that will work. If your not sure on the gear ratio, type me the axle code on the federal sticker on the drivers door post and I will decode it for you
