Engine related items
Last owners really botched up a motor swap and am trying to straighten it out.
Original motor, I believe was a 302 and now has a 400,
The oil pan is a front sump, therefore not clearing the cross-member.
To fix this, they raised the motor mount member on the driver side up about an inch.
This resulted in a misalignment of the clutch linkage from the frame to the block. So, to fix this, they spotwelded the clutch linkage plate on the frame and kinda bent the rod that holds the clutch pin to give it as straight a shot to the clutch arm as they could get.
Well, I finally found an oil pan (rear sump) that I was told would work. It has the rear sump slightly forward from the rear and the number on it is D7TZ-6675-B3 (the 3 is a guess). Is this the right pan, and where can I get the right dip stick and tube and the right oil pick-up hardware?
Do I need to pull the engine to make the changes?
This is a great site and appreciate any help.
Thanks
