I have found 2 trucks I am considering buying. Both are 97' F-150's with the 4.2L and both are 2WDR. Both are XL's and extended cabs. Both have 100000km (60000 miles). One is an automatic, the other is a 5 speed.
1. Is one better than the other?
2. Are there any reason's why I shouldn't buy either one of these?
I think you are in the wrong forum.
The 97 had a problem with some of the automatics. If this one has been replaced, or rebuilt, then that doesn't matter. The stick will give you better power and mileage.
Good luck
The real issue is the 4.2- wouldn't touch one with a ten ft. you-know-what. Search the forums for 4.2 and see how many threads come up. In that vintage,a 4.6 is a better bet, or go back a year or two for a 300-6.
