Difficult to shift my B series
clutch was replaced @ 78k. Over the past few months, it has become more difficult to shift 1 -2, 2-3, 3-4... the higher the gear I'm going into, the easier it is. When I start driving and the car is totally cold, it's not too bad. After I drive for 10-15 minutes, either hiway or city (not shifting at all or shifting a lot) it becomes difficult to shift. When I took it to the mechanics last Thursday, the day was much cooler, as was the following day. The problem did not occur. Since we are coming out of Spring now, i realize the problem was worse the warmer the weather was. One of the three mechanics I talked to (a clutch specialist) offered up that this could be part of the problem (the Mazda dealer did not, but my local dealers service dept kinda sucks). Any ideas? Tranny fluid (Mercon, as recommended by Ford) is full & clean.
Another 'warm weather gremlim' - ever since I got the truck in 2000, about 2-5 times per summer I will start up and it idles at 200-400 rpm. If I give it gas, the engine catches and runs fine and I can drive with no problem. If I wait (either driving or with the car off) maybe 10 minutes, the problem goes away.
Thanks.
Matt
for the second problem, pull the codes and post them here.
