MAP sensor

Is there a simple way to check MAP Sensor operation, other than the volt meter/vacuum procedure mentioned in Haynes and Chilton's manuals? My 90 F150 300 I6 shows a 22 error code with the engine self test. But voltage going into the sensor is correct, according to my meter. A post in the archive says there is a port on MAP sensors that can get plugged up. Is this the vacuum line port next to the wiring harness? Truck runs good, but this 22 code bothers me. Plan to swab the throttle body and manifold bores clean this weekend. Will that affect MAP performance?
Also, anybody know what codes/flashes appear on self test when all is okay?
Thanks for any feedback.

Besides the seemingly complicated manual diagnosis with vacuum pump and meter, the only other way is with a full blown scanner like a Snap On that actually displays map output as the computer "see's" it. MUCHO MONEY!!! The vacuum port is what is next to the elec. connector. To eleminate the basics, verify the vacuum connection all the way back to the manifold is good,in the correct spot, and not partially plugged with gunk, including the nipples on both ends.Cleaning the throttle body and manifold connections is always a good practice! For a more detailed description of EEC-IV operations, check out this site,if you haven't already. If you have another FORD or a friend with one,you could swap sensors to verify before a purchase.<a href="http://dalidesign.com/hbook/eectest.html">http://dalidesign.com/hbook/eectest.html</a>
