Windshield replacement- What now?
Well, I got my winshield replaced yesterday, I did not have glass insurance so I had to pay. In any event, it appears as if the winshields for the trucks of early 90's vintage are different from the 80-86. I got the wrong one of course. There is a black band around the outside edge, with a cut back portion so you can read the VIN. The 90's truck have the VIN in a different spot than my 85, hence you now cannot read the VIN number it is blocked by the black band on the winshield. I went back to the glass company today, but the guy there knows "Nothing" he just answers the phone. Have you guys seen this before? What should do about it? Am I worrying about nothing? I think I want them to replace the winshield with the correct one? Am I off base here? What are laws relating to this? What do you guys think?
