My 90 f250 302 is having problems. Off idle acceleration is horrible. It seems to be missing. My guess is its going lean because occasionally I get a backfire. I've replaced the EGR and O2. I've done the fuel pressure check and it passed fine. The coolant temp sensor gave lower voltages than I would have thought but they did decrease as the engine got hotter. I've had the injectors gone through. There was a bad one that I replaced and the rest were cleaned. I'm out of ideas. I'm supposed to be going on a trip in about a week that I would really like to have this taken care of. Any suggestions would be very helpful.
Also, the temp guage sending unit needs to be replaced and I can't seem to find it. It sure isn't under the exhaust manifolds from what I can see.
Oh yeah. The intermittent wipers quit working as well. I looked down by the e-brake for the govenor but didn't see it. Where else could it be???
Thanks for the help.
driver of one pain in the A** truck
Your temp sending unit is on top of your intake manifold. It is kinda hidden. Theres only one wire leading to it. It's more towards the drivers side of the intake manifold. As far as it runnin crappy, replace plugs and wires and rotor and distributor cap. And then put a can of seafoam in your fuel tank.
The temp sending uint should be located on the drivers side front of the intake manifold, right next to the first injector on that side. Check all vacuum hoses and also check the base timing.
