rust problems

i have some problems im eventually going to have to deal with. i have rust in the wheel wells and on the doors, and im just curious what you guys have done about it? whats the best way? sand and prime or just replace the affected area or what? also are there any tips on staving off the rust. trying to keep it from spreading?

on top of that it seems my radiator bracket is pretty well rusted across the bottom, im curious as to what i can do about it? is this replaceable? it seems sort of welded to the frame. what can be done?

thanks.

80 F150 is dead on right. I will just add that when you get the rust sanded down, there will still be pitted rust that your sandpaper cannot get to, which will keep growing. The use of a rust convertor that turns the rust in to a iron oxide coating that is paintable, goes a long way in slowing the rusting process. ( nothing totally stops it other than metal replacement) Oshos and Picklex 20 are two good convertor products. If you choose to use either, read instructions carefully for proper and safe useage. They are acidic and will burn tissue and also irritate the lungs when using them in close quarters. good luck. jmo
