Hmmm.......
"the cel light is on full time now, i cleared codes and it came back on in less than 30 seconds at idle."
What code(s) are you getting now and are they KOER only ???
Are you getting vacuum to the EGR Control Solenoid---easy test is to disconnect the vac line going into the EGR Control solenoid and plug your vac guage into that line and see if there's any vacuum is present.
(Remember, the vacuum supply for the EGR Control Solenoid comes from the coffee cannister.)
If so, then the EGR Control Solenoid isn't doing what it should do. You'll have to check the EGR Control Solenoid for open/short, wire connector(s), appropriate voltage(s) applied during operating conditions.
I'm placing my bet with 924x2150 & noFordguys' diagnosis."Either the EVR or EVP wiring may be suspect."
Let us know !!!
Bob
yup, i think you all are rite . it is still code 31. there is 20 inches of vacuume going to the controller. i never thought to check for power to it though. he is going to go to the station tuesday, they know him from the job i got him driving for napa , and he delivers all their parts, so they will take care of him. also they are afraid of me, i had a bad run in with them years ago when i was still drinking, and they think i am nuts. i used to do wrecker service for them. towed in an abandoned car for them and they did not pay me. after 3 weeks of bs, i went over there with a chop saw, and cut the car in half, and then loaded it onto the rollback and ran it to the scrap yard. freaked them out, and they have been real nice to me ever since. i figure with a reputation like that, why try to disprove it and show them that i am not some 300 lb, long haired, giant bearded, crazy, biker type dude??
well, i just got back from picking it up, and it seems i screwed up. i cleaned the egr lines that went from the valve to the exhaust. the passage from the valve to the throttle body in the intake was plugged. $100 and an inspection sticker later, all is now ok. they did like the fact that i put all new lines on it and did all the other stuff though. told me i made their job alot easier, they only had to do what i did not do.

Glad you got it running again.....even though it set you back a "C" note.
We were close in the hunt though.
I guess that's why my profession isn't a Ford Mechanic.
All better and running strong now ?????
Happy driving and and ejoy your six.
Bob
well actually bob, the only time i get to "enjoy it " is when my nephew brings it over for repair and i take it for a ride.it is a clean 88 F250 though, and he keeps it shiny. now all i got to do is convince him to do the same to mine. my trucks are a 79 F250 4X4 with 351M and C/6, and an 88 superduty 4X4 diesel with C/6
