4.6 Chugging
I have a 98 with the 4.6 and I have a chugging problem. Last week my fuel pump went out and I changed it. After I put he new one in it now chuggs when I drive and when I stop at the lights. It only does it at the light when I am in gear. It doesnt do it in N or P. I was wondering if it might be the plugs and wires. Its kinda like its missing and it doesnt feel like I have all my power. Can anyone help me please.
Also I was thinking about getting a hypertech programmer. Does a programmer really do anything to this motor. Can you tell a power increase. And is it a good idea to change the shift points.

Not that this will help any, but I have a '92 Grand Marquis wit the same 4.6 liter. Does the same thing. If I get the RPM's up another 100 rpms, it dissapears. I've change MAF, fuel filter, plugs, wires, with no cure. So I'll be curious to see what anyone else says.
