Heavy Load
I picked up a load of gravel for a project I am working on. I drive a 95 F-150. Haven't had it a month. It's a great truck. The loader at the quarry put the gravel in. Way too much. 1.5 tons. The old truck knew it was there and the tail swayed a little. I took it real easy. But I was amazed at how well it took it. It pulled away from stop lights just fine and stopped fine. Great trucks. I have been a Dodge man for the past 25+ years. My stepdad always had Ford trucks. Now I know why. I don't recommend it. But danged if it didn't do it.

Old habits die hard. I still own a Dodge power wagon. It is also a great truck although not very practical at this point in my life. It's too needy. With this new F150 I'm definitely a Ford man now.

Yep. I've had 3k lbs in the back of my '90 a couple times, too. I wouldn't make a habit of it, or go too far like that, but it'll move it down the road and get it stopped. Just make sure your exhaust isn't loose and hanging down in back--DAMHIKT.

3k is nothing in the back of my F250...but I wouldn't have wanted 3k in the back of my old F150.
I have had about 6,600 lbs in the bed of my f250 before for a grand total of about 12,360 lbs...that I don't want to repeat either.
