hey there everyone,
I have a 1990 ford ranger with a 2.3 and the a4ld trans 2wd.
I also have a locked, lock up torque convetrter, and was hoping somone could shine some light my way. I was wondering if it is possible to test the tcc solinoid to see if it is good or not, also if it is good and my problem lies in the tcc itself and is it possible to render the tcc inopperable, so that I could drive the truck until I get parts and time.
thank you
Disconnect the electrical connector at the drivers side front of the transmission. That will disable the od solenoid and the tcc solenoid. If the torque converter is still locked up the problem may be in the valve body or the pump seals or the torque converter.
