My Dad kinda gets the shaft... He takes all three kids, 3 spouses, 4 grandkids, and mom to the zoo, museum, and a carshow (all at the same place every year) He pays for admission, lunch, snacks and supper. Plus he slips each kid $$$$ to pay for gas.
Must be $300-400 dollars every year.... but that is what he wants. We all go, it is fun.
I built him a PC for his shop, he has been wanting one.
not really a present but some great news from my daughter. she has finished her work and will have her phd soon, shes going to be a full time shrink. i could not ask for any thing better then that.
It'll be my first father's day within driving distance of my dad for several years, so I'm going to go out as soon as I get off work, steal his aluminum stock trailer, haul it back to work and clean it out with the steam/pressure washer, treat it with some of the stuff to make it shiny again, then haul it back and visit for a while. The best part is, all it'll cost me is fuel for the trip and a little bit for the aluminum treatment!
I don't have a father anymore, but my mother is remarried to a terrific guy, so I am sure to tell him thanks for taking care of Mom and Happy F-D. It really seems to make him happy.
I got my dad a side by side shotgun on layaway a month ago, but I didnt have enough money to get it out by Sunday. So Sunday morning Im asking him for $50

me and my wife got her dad an OCC shirt and some pictures i took while i was out in NY for training, got my dad some big dog shirts, he likes them alot, and i got from my son Dukes of Hazzard season 3 on dvd(although, he is as into it as i am and he is only 2, gotta love that, now i have to get a dvd burner so i can take my own dvd's to the boat with me......haha)
Well I didn't get him the flowers, but I was able to see him (and mom too) this weekend. He asked me to bring my dremel tool so he could clean some contacts on some dash switches. We just didn't have time over the weekend for him to "get 'er done" and I had to head back home today. Rather than run off and leave my dremel with him, I ran out this morning and bought him his own dremel tool and kit. He and I are so much alike it is funny-- I know it really isn't much but he was just like a kid when I gave it to him- he wasn't expecting it at all and it really was something he had always wanted (but had been too thrifty to go out and buy it for himself). My son let it slip that he and his mom are gonna surprise me tomorrow with a Pawley Island hammock. I gotta remember to act surprised! I know I'll be happy because it is something I've always wanted. Hope everyone else had a good one.
My dad got a 12-inch toolbox from the company store where I work in town. Might help keep his screwdrivers and sockets from rolling around on his dash for a change.
My dad's dad got a squirrel feeder and a bucket of ear corn, so he can sit and watch the little critters.
Both of them got Father's Day cards inscribed with the words "Thanks for everything."
My mom's dad, my dad's grandfather's, and a couple of my uncles and great-uncles got a trip through my memory.
My dad hasn't been here for over 3 years, but the last thing I said to him was that I loved him....As for me, my son got me a set of craftsman screwdrivers and a new Phillies cap! He and my wife also took me to see a Wimington Blue Rocks (Red Sox single A affiliate) game. I had a GREAT weekend!
My wife and I took our 2 dogs to go visit my dad's plot. Met my sister and mom there too. My brother slept in and missed out.
Anyway, while we were out and about, we stopped in a dollar store and got my father in law a practice golf ball, that has a stake and a string attached to it. He won't be back in town till Tuesday though, (tour bus operator) and that also happens to be my mother in law's birthday. So a double whammy.
My kids got me the "Medal of Honor" European Assault PS2 Game.
Been wasting the last two days on it, and can not wait to get home tonight to play it.
I got my Dad a long sleave denim shirt with an embroider picture above the left pocket, he can not get enough of these type of shirts, dont know what but it is something he likes. Also had him over for a nice dinner.

My son has a small 360 acre farm near his deer lease. We (my son and 2 of his kids) went there for a Father's Day weekend, to ride 4-wheelers, fish the ponds and shoot some .22s. Late Saturday we were on the 4-wheelers letting the kids drive while we sat behind them. I was on my son's Polaris 600 with my 8-year old granddaughter driving in a 90 acre wheat field behind the house. She is no stranger to the 4-wheeler and knows not to turn at high speed, but for some reason she turned, put it up on 2 wheels and threw me off. Nothing broke, but I can't recall ever being this sore. We came home early so I could suffer at home and they bought me the BAND OF BROTHERS cd's to watch. Not my best Father's Day, but one I will remember.
