Just wandering if the throttle delay on my new v10 could be adjusted? Recently traded in a 04' F150 that was really bad when purchased but took it to the dealer to see what they could do and somehow they managed to make it about 50% better. I figure a 50% increase in this thing and WATCH OUT! If not a throttle cable conversion that would work with the computer would be great.
Hello... and welcome to FTE.
Because the V10 has a drive-by-wire throttle body, it can't be done, unless there is a recommended flash to fix it.
I am guessing it was a recognised issue with the (also drive-by-wire throttle) F150, and Ford created a new flash for the PCM to fix it.
Generally Ford vehicles with a drive-by-wire throttle have a 10% threshold, whereby you can depress the accelerator, and get no response from the engine.
This is to make it smoother, better emissions and it works better with cruise control.
You can go to the dealer and see if they have a flash for it, but they may not as well.
