oil over spray
10800 miles on my 05' PSD 6.0L S/C FX4 XLT. I had the first oil change done at the dealership at 6300 miles. I noticed this weekend while draining the HFCM and checking fluid levels I had some oil spray on the hood. I looked around the filter cap and noticed nothing puddling but you could tell that is where posiibly it was coming from. This morning a more versed diesel guy looked at it with me and concurred it looked like ti was coming out of the filter cap. The cap is tightened could it be the dealership over tightened the cap breaking the oil ring aloowing it to seep out? Would it be enought seepage to allow it to blow up on the hood? It is not a big spot on the hood but very noticeable. i am due for a oil change in about 2000 miles would it be a good idea to go ahead and change the o-ring now or just live with it till the next oil change which i plan to do myself. THe oil level is still fine on the dipstick. any thoughts? I thought I had seen a topic about this sometime last week but couldn't find it before posting this one.
