I have a problem with my 94 F150. When I hit the brakes, the brake light does not come on. If I just barely touch them and depress slightly, I can get the brake light to come on, but after I push a few inches they cease to operate. The only way to make them come on is to barely tap the pedal. Also, my cruise control acts funny. I have to tap and tap the brake pedal lightly and eventually it will shut off that way without pressing the off button. It used to be just touch it, so something is messed up. I checked the fuse, and its good on the cruise control, CC bump control thing, and brake lights and the fuse is still good. Any ideas?
For Cruisse control = there is a Brake Pressure Switch that sends signal to cruise control indicating brakes where applied with enought force to disable it.
For the Brake light = it comes on if:
1º Park brake is applied
2º Brake fluid level to high or low
3º Ignition swith is in "Start" possition
4º Low vacum at pump (For diesel ones)
Especially check the pressure switch for leakage, disconnectand isually inspect switch and connector. If you have any doubts disconnect it (cruise will be disabled) - check the latest Cruise control post - Keyword "flames".
