Air Filter
Just wondering is it ok to blow out the air filter on my 2004 6L. I know the book says no but looks to me like if not wild and crazy you could blow it out and not hurt anything. Thanks for the help

It is my opinion that this could be a bad practice. There are so many variables with the pressure and quality of air that a generic response would always have to be 'no'.
Excessive pressure could damage the fibers and not enough pressure would not clean anything. Does your air system have an oiler added? If so, this would not be a good thing for this type of filter. Does you air system have a water collector/seperator? If no, then you run the risk of saturating your filter with water. This all depends on your climate, etc.
In my view, compared to the price of the truck and the expensive engine, why take chances with an inexpensive filter? I agree, it would be great to get more life out of these consumeables, but at what cost?
