I've been without a headliner for about a year now, the old one was sagging so I pulled it out to repair it. Well, it didn't survive the removal, the styrofoam board was very brittle and came to many pieces.
The Bronco's been sort of neglected the last year, but now I'm getting a "Bronco Jones" and would to make the interior right again. None of the local junkyards claim to have a Bronco and the Bronco graveyard doesn't list any headliners.
I would like to have a top that is made from ABS or fiberglass that would be solid and could be painted. Anyone know of a source for something like this? Or does anyone have a better idea?
OK, I've searched Ebay and came up with this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33695
It says it's for PU, but I think it might work for a Bronco as well. Any objections, naysayers, please say something if I am mistaken!
My Bronco had a replacement fiberglass top on it when I bought it. I don't know where the guy got it from, but they're obviously out there somewhere. He did a crappy job painting it though, paint keeps flaking off..
Strange that the local junkyards dont have any.. The ones here always have at least 4 or 5 sittin around
I can't remember the name of it, but there is a replacement headliner out there that houses 4 speakers and has a spot to mount a radio or cb. Not sure if they make it for the Bronco but like ucmeflyby said...the one for the PU might work. My BIL and a friend had them in their late 70's body PU's. Pretty neat.
Highliner! Just got a new Acme truck accessories catalog today and they have it in there. Only list for a PU but I think you could make it work in a Bronco. Find a PU and take some measurments front to back first just to see how close a fit it'll be.
The headliner in the ebay link has the four speakers in it, but the seller emailed my back and said it wouldn't work. I think it will work, so I'll do some more digging.
Incidentally, have any of you used a PU headliner to replace the one in your Bronco?
