Ignition Switches

87 F-150, 302 EFI. I've replaced my second Ignition Switch in less than 6 months, they keep breaking apart where the metal prongs that hold the plastic part together. This switch is mounted on the steering column and I suppose takes a lot of abuse with my wide tires. I tried a different brand switch last night (made in Mexico), we will see if I have any better luck with it.

Does anyone know who makes a good ignition switch for my truck that will not come apart at the first bump in the road? I believe the last two were purchases at Autozone, although they gave me a replacement for free, I did not install theirs again.

Thanks for any help.

Roger

I believe there is a Recall for bad switches. Check out (www.flamingfords.com)

Thats for the info, although my truck was not included in the recall, it shed a little bit of light on these faulty switches.
