Smile f100 motor mod.

Hey Guys,
I am strating to put my project 55 back together.
I changed my plans of a y block to more power !!!!!
I am putting a 390 fe and a c6 trans in it.
Can anyone tell me what is the distance to put the motor mounts from the front of the frame?
I do not have the cabe on the frame so it is hard to tell where to place it.
I would like to mount the motor and trans before iI put the cab on.

On another note the color that I used 2002 t-bird blue looks sweet!!
As soon as i get pictures I will post them.

Thanks again!!!

I hate to say it but there is no easy way of doing a engine installation. Each truck is slightly different so you really do need all the items installed that will get in your way.

You do need at least the cab, radiator, suspension and steering gear installed along with the engine having the intake manifold, waterpump, fan, crank pulley and exhaust manifolds and you need some idea of what type of engine mounts that you would like to use (aftermarket donuts or factory style rubber mounts)

Just something to think about

Fastrack -

Ed Oe (edsf100) has a 390 in his 56. He may be able to give you some dimensions for distance and height of the motor mounts.

Hello,
I just purchased a 55 with a 390 and c6 already installed and working. They used a set of front engine mounts(never saw this before). If this is what you are using maybe you can use the measurements from mine as a guide.
