I have the chance to get a 429 from a lincoln. (almost free) is it possible to use the motor with a c6 in my '56 project. BTW i will be using a heidts superide front IFS. Thanx for any help!!!
Hi! dstruble, I have installed a 460 lincoln with c-6 and I thinks its a good choice. My main problem was oilpan clearance over my MII front crossmember. you will need to change to a rear sump pan. aftermarket companies are starting to come out with accessories and brackets for the 429/460 now. good luck. Wayne
I have made few custom diptsicks . I filled the engine with the correct amount of oil. Put in the dipstick that fits the tube, mark full and cut the stick so full lines up with full on the dipstick.

purple, I used a flexible dipstick, I think it was listed for 351? not sure but it had the same threads as my pan, I have the sanderson headers also. fit was no problem. Wayne

Sounds like a great project!!! Welcome to the board
welcome to the site, stuff that boy in there and then iron out the details. BTW Greg, try Lokar for that flexi dip stick tube they have all kinds of custom lengths
i did use a 429\460 in my 49 and it fit without alot of trouble. only the exhaust and the power steering made it interesting. not sure how much diff ther is in a 56.
Purple 55, I saw a 74 model ford truck at the wreckers a couple of years back that had a 460 in it. The dip stick in it came out of the side of the timing chain cover by the fuel pump.
