i own a 94 flare side with a 6 cil 300ci.
and have a code 32 error on the airbag light and need to know how to reset it, i have been told that it has a reset jumper somewhere
thanks to who ever can help me with this!
Roderick,
I am the one who told you about the reset jumper, there is none. You have miss understood me..,go and buy a 10 dollar manual at Auto Zone
for your truck. Look up the section for "Error
Codes". It contains instructions on how to use
a "jumper wire" to extract error codes put out by
your PCM (Power Control Module). This jumper wire
is used between two test points outlined in the manual, the manual will show you (picture) where
these test points are located. The instructions
say that if you pull out the jumper wire during
the test, it will reset your PCM and all error
codes will be reset. I have already tried this
on my 94 F150 and it didn't work! I have also tried disconnecting the negative side of my battery for 1hr and it still didn't work.
Sorry for the confusion,
EBTE tech
Just as a reminder, all hard codes, even if erased, immediately return as soon as the key is turned on & the PCM scans the system for confirmation that sensors are present, whether good or bad.The codes won't go away until the problem is resolved. The codes will sometimes remain until 30 driving cycles, with no light displayed,it's just in there until it self extracts itself.About the only way to remove a code from appearing on subsequent self tests is to use a scanner such as Snap-on or OTC.And also, what holds true for one year/make/model,will not be for the next, even if the year after or before. It's always a learn by your own efforts type of thing.
Phillip
Okay Phillip,
You have my attention..,what sensor is the
PCM looking for on the air bag. Is there a sensor
on the air bag itself or some kind of inertia
sensor/switch that trips the air bag. I am convinced PCM is looking for a reference voltage
to a sensor but not sure where this sensor may
be at. Note: that the error code started when I
disconnected the positive side of my battery to install a bass boom box. The error code started up
immediately..,Roderick did the samething only he installed some fog lights. We both own the same trucks 94' F150 5.0 liter. So any info would be
greatly appreciated.
