Posted some new pictures of my project. Unlike Carl everything seems to be going my way. Of course mine has only been sitting 24 years. Check out the coolant that came out of this thing. Good luck with that flat head Carl.
By the way the engine turned out to be a 272 with two different heads.
Burt
Nice truck you have looks like it is in good shape. I run a 272 with the ecg heads it has been very good. I don't think mine has the freeze plug like that?
Burt, don't you just love how Ford put the radiator drain valve right over the support? I've been thinking about doing something non-stock (oh my God!!!) and adding a longer nipple or something to get it to drain without making such a big mess.
Yeah something tells me this truck won't be all stock when I finish with it.....but I hope to keep it as much FORD or (aftermarket made specifically for ford) as possible.
Great Start. You are motivating me to let the lawn go and jump in with both feet this weekend. Something about the words "ready for the trip to the machine shop".
Glad you were able to solve the "what's my engine mystery". Man, I can't believe how well that antifreeze held up after all those years. Things are definitely breaking your way on this truck. Hope it stays that way.
