remote lock/unlock with engine running??

I have a 99 f250 with keyless entry remote. there are times i would like to have the engine running with key in ignition (cold winter days, or a stop and go) but be able to take remote with me to lock and unlock doors. Is there a way to make this work with a factory system??

The aftermarket system in my work truck will not lock the doors with the engine running but it will unlock them. When I need to be away from the truck while it's running, I use the power lock button on the drivers door to lock it up & the remote to get back in.
Have your spare key handy when you try it this way, just in case!

What I did was put a Bulldog remote start in my 2000 E-150 which also has remote locks too. Then I wired the Bulldog system direct to the door locks so the Bulldog remotes will unlock and lock the doors with the engine running. To get the factory system to do it would be like installing a whole new system anyway and would require a lot of time. The Bulldog system I got had the harness connector with it and I had the start portion of the Bulldog working in 15 mins. The door locks took a little longer as I had to pull the kick panel from the driver's side to get access to the door lock wires.
