Code 32 is high resistance in Driver's side air bag module circuit - anywhere from the connnector at base of steering column up to and including the air bag module itself. Manual warns that direct reading of resistance of air bag module is not to be attempted!!
Code is set when resistance of 4 ohms or greater is sensed between pins 10 and 11 of air bag diagnostic module
Circuit consists of main harness and connector to air bag sliding contact, the sliding contact and the air bag module itself.
When the sliding contact or air bag module is disconnected, shorting bars are placed in the circuit is place of the components and you can measure the resistance of the circiut as long as the air bag module is not connected, also you can check the wiring by disconnecting both the module and the sliding contact assy, (clockspring) and measuring the resistance of the wiring only.
Hope this helps. Reference 95 manual.
I had air bag 32 flash in my 94 and it is/was caused by the clock spring behind the air bag. Be sure to get the problem fixed quickly because if it is shorted, it will causes the air bag computer to short therefore increasing cost to fix. If you cannot fix the spring soon unplug the computer under the dash until you get time. This also causes/ed problems with the horn. I haven't had any problems with flashers so I don't know if that would cause that problem or not.
