I will be taking my 1997 Ranger off the road for about a month, beginning at the end of June. It will be stored in a dry garage, and I will be away for the time it is off the road, and therefore unable to start it up occasionally and move it around. My question is what do I need to do before I park it? I figured to change the oil, and maybe put a battery tender on it, if I can find the darn thing. Anything I am missing?

One month isnt enough time that you should have to worry about the truck. If you put a battery tender on, so much the better. For long term storage, fill the gas tank and add Sta-Bil, back the truck over some folded shop towels to keep from getting a flat spot in the tires. Pull the spark plugs and dump about a 1/4 ounce of fogging oil in each cylinder, replace plugs. Bump the motor over a few cranks without actually starting it. Plug the exhaust with an oily rag to keep condensation down (winter only). You dont need to do this for a month, but for the whole winter this does the trick. Good Luck!!
