Question Cowl vent area

My cowl vent area is badly rusted and I'm looking for replacement patch panels. As of yet I have not found anyone who makes them, if anyone knows where I can find these PLEASE let me know.
If nobody makes these does anybody have a cowl that could salvaged, I would need about 6" each side of the vent and from the windsheild seam to the flat area the the hood sets on. Also would like the operating mechanism as mine is pretty rough.....
Thanks for any input you can provide!!
John

SORRY
I'm putting together a '40 Ford Pick up!!!
I'm here to tell you as you get older the brain cell are slipping faster and faster!!!!!! The plan is to put in on a Ranger frame and run a V8 auto tranny. I've got a body man and he ask me to see if I can find one( cheaper for me to look than it is for him to look and charge me)...
Again Sorry
John

There is some way that the cowl and roof can be taken off from the rest of the cab where the two seperate peices meet. I don't know the proper method to do it but maybe someone will chime in with that. I need to get a new roof for mine and will have to swap mine out also. The swap also requires re-leading some places.

41 Clay,

I would rather buy a different cab than go through that. Cabs are not yet, real pricey. 46, 47's are still quite inexpensive because most folks do not realize the differences are so little between them and a 40-41...........

The 46-47 cab (a nice one) could become a 40-41, in a day!!!

No-one, including the self proclaimed experts would know once the cab was on the chassis, with interior.

Floor under drivers seat, fendermounts on side of cowl, gas filler hole, and I think the little stamping in the middle of the dash, are the main differences. There is the metal trim around the door window glass............... and I think, that's it!!!!

The big plus is, THERE ARE LOTS OF 46-47's still around.

Best of luck

uba40

meanwhile, I gotta get out and get the vent opening cut out of a 47 for J Wright!!!

You might want to take a look at this site since you're going to mount everything on a Ranger frame: www.usbody.com
